SOUTH AUCKLAND NOTES
GARDEN PARTY AT TE KAWA In aid of the Crippled Children's Fund, a garden party was held at the home of Mrs. M. Coverdale, of Te Kawa, recently. Ideal weather prevailed and visitors numbering over 100 were present from surrounding districts. Afternoon tea was served in _ the grounds and numerous competitions were arranged for the guests. The Tauwhare Wrestling Club held a dance in the Tauwhare Hall recently, when there was a large number present. The hall was with gaily-coloured streamers. _ Novelty dances, which added to the enjoyment, were won by Miss R. de Luca and partner and by Miss A. Ferguson and Mr. Haycock. Among those present were: —Mrs. Kirkman, Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Pretty, Mrs. Trigg, ft. Reece, Miss A. Libeau, Miss G. Vaile. Miss Johnston. Miss J. Shaw, Miss M. McKendrv, Miss P. McKendry. Miss M. Ramsav, Miss P. de Luca, Miss V. Brown, Miss A. Windsor and Miss I. Wilson. Mrs. C. d'Auvergne, of Waingaro, is visiting Tauranga. Mrs. Carlyon, of Te Kuiti. has returned from «i brief visit to Hamilton. Mrs. J. G. Coates, of Dargaville, has returned from a visit to the Waikato. Mrs. Gorrie. of Auckland, has returned from Hamilton. Miss L. Dingle, of Hawera, is the guest of Mrs. P. E. Dingle at Tauwhare. Mrs. J. Mitchell, of Auckland, who has been visiting Tauranga, is now the cuest of her daughter, Mrs. A. S. MoKenzie, of Hamilton.
