MAN-EATING HYAENA

TWELVE PERSONS KILLED VILLAGES TERRORISED CHILDREN CARRIED OFF (Received February 24, 11.15 p.m.) CALCUTTA, Feb. 24 Twelve persons have been killed and scores injured by a hyaena which is terrorising villages in the Bijnor district, United Provinces. The hyaena daringly enters huts, seizes children, and devours them in the woods. It has also killed an aged Hindu priest. European and Indian hunters have organised search parties without success, and the police have offered a large reward to any person killing the hyaena.
