STRUCK BY GIRDER
WORKER'S LEG BROKEN Struck by a girder which fell from a grab at the Otahuhu railway workshops yesterday morning, a boilermaker, Mr. Robert John Martin, aged 53, married, of Seabrook Avenue, New Lynn, suffered a fracture of the left leg. He was pinned to the floor by the girder, which weighed about two tons. His plight was noticed immediately by other workmen, and he was extricated and removed to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance.
