RESERVE BANK SHARES RECOVERY IN VALUE LABOUR'S "PURCHASE PRICE" In the past few days there has been a noticeable improvement in market, values for Reserve Bank shares, which dropped sharply last October and again immediately after the general elections. A parcel changed hands on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday at £6, compared with £5 15s on February 14. The suggestion that the Labour Government will purchase the issue has been reiiponsiblo for the continued weakness in the shares, which have fallon from a peak of £6 15s in May-Jupe, 1935. According to a statement made by the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, if the Government buys up tho issue, the purchase price will probably bo that ruling nt the date of the "defeat of the last Government," »which was £6 ss. Whatever, happens, the shares appear to have been under-valued at £5 15s.
