WEDDING

BROWN—CHESTERM AN The marriage was celebrated at St. Peter's Cathedral, Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon of Miss Merle Chesterman, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Chest-erman, of Wellington, and formerly of Hamilton, to Mr. Edwin Wynyard Brown, only son of Mr. T. W. Brown and the late Mrs. Brown, Cambridge. The Rev. W. M. Smallfield officiated and Mr. S. B. Simms played the wedding music. Beautiful cream cactus dahlias were used to decorate the church. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory French satin cut on slender lines with long tight-fitting sleeves and a high cowl neckline. The waistline was finished with a silver girdle with trailing ends and the skirt formed a long oval train. The veil of embroidered tulle, which formed a second train, was worn with sprigs of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Jeannette Cbcsterman, cousin of the bride, and Miss Pat Osborn. They were similarly attired in dusky pink suede crepe frocks, fashioned with boat necklines, angel sleeves and fitting skirts finished with silver girdles. Each carried a sheaf of dusky pink dahlias and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. S. W. Harbutt as best man, and by Mr. S. H. Chesterman as groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Cent re way. Mrs. Chesterman received her guests wearing a graceful gown of blue embossed marocain. She wore a hat to tone and carried a bouquet of dark red cactus dahlias. Mrs. L. L. Orr, sister of the bridegroom, wore a frock of brown crepe faille, relieved with Lido blue, and a hat to tone. Her bouquet was of dark cactus dahlias. The bride travelled in a suit of dusky blue frosted crepo with matching hat and accessories of grey lizard skin.
