DAMAGE BY FIRE

HOUSE AT ONE TREE HILL Caused by a spark from a boiler fire in an attached wash-house, an outbreak of fire did serious damage to a sevenroomed house at 10 Puriri Avenue, One Tree Hill, owned and occupied by Mrs. G. M. McDonald, shortly before noon yesterday. Engines from the Remuera ami Ellerslio fire stations were summoned by street alarm, but the flames had a strong hold when they arrived. The outbreak was extinguished with one lead of hose. The wash-house was gutted, and the kitchen and sitting room of the house severely damaged. The heat and smoke resulted in severe damage to the hall and slight damage to three other rooms.
