STOMACH DISORDER
Acidosis is one of those convenient titles which is used nowadays by the public to describe many stomach disorders. Acidosis is really a bodily state in which there is a deficiency of tho alkaline bases. In extreme cases there is air hunger followed by coma and later death supervenes. Acidity alone is frequently not the chief cause of the illness, but ip associated with a poisonous condition in the body generally. It occurs in wasting diseases, in fovers and in diabetes. It frequently occurs during the course of a bad influenzal attack. Tho treatment of the acidosis is directed towards the disease which has caused the condition. A brisk purge followed by small (loses of soda bicarbonate are usually given. All fatty foods and eggs should be restricted during tho attack.
