Mrs. H. W. Piper, of Wellington, is at the Central Hotel. Mrs. F. B. McWhannell, of Ohaupo, lias returned from a visit to Auckland. Miss Mary Patcrson and Miss J. A. Guthrie, of Dunedin, are at the Grand Hotel, Mrs. N. Herron, of Sandringham, who has been staying in Devonport, has returned. Mrs. A. F. Myall, Waterloo Quadrant, will leave to-day on a visit to Napier. Miss Meg Russell has returned to Auckland after having visited Tokomaru Bay. Mrs. A. McKay, of Sydney, who has been staying at Rakino Island, has left lor Russell. Mrs. Nello Porter, Victoria Avenue, Remuera, left by the Mariposa last night for Sydney. Mrs. Kurt Schmidt, of Remuera, left by the Mariposa last night to spend a holiday in Sydney. Mrs. W. A. Newton, of St. Heliers Bay, will return this week-end from a holiday at Cowes Bay. Miss Rona Lewis, of Cambridge, who has been spending several weeks in Auckland, has returned. Mrs. N. R. Alexander, Paritai Drive, Orakei, has returned from a visit to Mount Cook and a motor tour of the Lakes District. At Glenalvon are Mrs. T. J. Tennent (Scotland), Mrs. G. N. Windred (Suva), Mrs. E. Jackman (Rotorua), Mrs. W. J. Baigent (Tauranga). Mrs. J. I. Goldsmith, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland with her husband, who is to attend the annual Rotary conference to be held next week. Mrs. M. G. Masefield, Alvastone Flats, will leave to-day to spend a holiday in Waiwera, where she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. M. Darling. Mrs. B. Gisset, of Chicago, accompanied by Mr. Gisset, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Mariposa. They will spend some time in New Zealand in the course of a tour of the Pacific. Mi ss Elsie Argue, of New South Wales, who has been visiting the South Island, has arrived in Auckland, where she is the guest of Mrs. T. M. Macdonald, Matai Road, Devonport. Mrs. Laselle Thornburgh, accompanied by Mr. Thornburgh, former district attorney of Santa Barbara, California, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Mariposa, in the course of a South Seas cruise. Lady Trent, accompanied by her husband, "Lord Trent, of Nottingham, England, and her daughter, the Hon. Mary Boot, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Mariposa in the course of a world tour. They are at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. Albert H. Beck, of Broadmeadows Farm, Wayland, Massachusetts, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Mariposa, on a tour of New Zealand. She is accompanied by Mr. Beck and is at present at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. Owen Taft, accompanied bv Mr. Taft, a prominent retired banker, of Watch Hill, Long Island, New York, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning by the Mariposa. They intend spending some time in New Zealand on a comprehensive tour of the country. They are at the Grand Hotel.
