A resolution was carried unanimously Reiterating the County Council's "determination to frustrate the attempt to jfoist upon the east coast beaches a echeme which would be just as obnoxious there as the Orakei outfall was to the southern area." The resolution claimed that about '2O years ago expert* declared the Orakcy scheme would be innocuous, and result in the solution of the drainage problem.
