THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE ELECTROLYTIC ZINCS RISE A quieter tone was evident in tho investment market on the Auckland Stock Kxchange yesterday and several issues, including Australians, which had been very firm lately, were a shade easier. There were several noteworthy exceptions, however, including Dalgetys, Electrolytic Zincs and New Zealand Newspapers. Holders of banks wore firm, but buyers tended to reduce their limits. Australasias were an exception, otters being lifted 2s 6d to £l2 Ss (3d. There was a strong inquiry for New South Wales and thro(» parcels changed hands at £'M 17s djd, an increase of 2s 6d. New Zealands were released ljd lower at * 47s 9d, while Commercials were again weaker. insurances generally were easier. Dalgetys continued to move upward, supplies being unsuccessfully sought at £9 "s 6d, an advance of 5s 6d. Offers for Electrolytic Zincs jumped Is 3d to 38s 3d, while New Zealand Newspapers were wanted Is better at 35s 9d. There was active dealing in Wilsons Cements at 42s and 42s 3d, a gain of Is 3d. Selling for the first time since December, National Timbers were Sd cheaper at 13s lOtl. The advance in Broken Hills was checked and business was done 3d lower at 60s 6d.
