TORRENTIAL RAIN
DAMAGE IN QUEENSLAND SUGAR CANE LOSSES BRISBANE, Feb. 17 Torrential rain in the Innisfail district completely spoiled what promised to be a bountiful sugar cane season. The damage amounts to thousands of pounds. About 40 passengers were marooned in the northern mail train at Innisfail, where 16 J inches of rain fell in 24 hours.
