SILVER SAUCE

.Put into a pan and bring to tho boil half a pint of water, loz. of butter, ono tablespoon fill of sugar and the grated rind of half a lemon. Break flown ono dessertspoonful of cornflour in a little water and pour tho hot liquid over, stirring all the time. Return all to the pan and stir over tho firo for a few minutes to cook tho cornflour. Then add a littlo lemon juice and just before serving fold in lightly the stiffly whisked white of ono egg. This is a delicious sauco for any kind of steamed pudding.
