TE PUKE INTERESTS

Mrs. Gnlpin was hostess at a party at her home in Pongakawa for the Rev. W. Lea and Mrs Lea, who have been absent from To Puke for a year, Mr. Lea having been on sick leave in England. Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Heather and Miss Judith Benner rendered songs and during the afternoon Mrs. Galpin presented -Mrs. Lea with a bouquet. Mr. Lea thanked the people, and expressed pleasure at being back in New Zealand again. Mrs. Bragg presided over the meeting of the Te Matai branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union. Arrangements were made concerning the branch's exhibits in the forthcoming show. Mrs. L. McCracken was elected a member of the women's committee in Te Puke.
