NEW PREFERENCE SHARES [BY TELEGRAm —OWN CORRESPONDENT] DUNEDIN. Monday At a meeting of directors of the Now Zealand Malay Rubber. Company, Limited, held last week, authority was given to issue 4050 £1 cumulative 8 per cent preference shares in settlement of arrears of dividends on the first issue of 10,125 preference shares, as agreed to by tho shareholders of the company. This ranks with the original issue as to capital and dividend, but is not subject to the statutory reduction of 20 per cent in rospe'et of dividends, as tho first issue is. The scrip bears tho words " New Issue" and the shares will be known on tho market as "new issue." The scrip has been posted to preference shareholders. The company hns been unable to pay dividends on its 8 per cent preference shares since 1927, arrears amounting to £5994. Shareholders have accepted 5 per cent per annum as from July 1, 1927, to June 30, 1935, instead of 8 per cent, subject to a statutory reduction for part of tho period, thus reducing tho liability to £4050. These arrears have now been capitalised, increasing the preference capital from £10,125 to £14,175. Tho ordinary capital amounts to £17,615.
