CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
TAKAPUNA GUN CLUB Under ideal weather conditions, a good gathering attended the monthly clay-bird shoot of the Takapuna Gun Club at its grounds, Barry's Point, Takajjuna. The principal event of the day was a 15-bird match for a club trophy and this wpa won outright by R. G. White (12yds) with the possible of 15 birds. It waß hiß first appearanoe at the Takapuna Gun Club aijd he received a great ovation from the shooters and visitors, as he had only started clay-bird shooting four months ago. Details are as follows : Seven-bird Eye-opener Sweepstake.—L. F. Ramsay (21yds), L. J. Henderson (19yds). and A. J. Hannigan (16yds), tied with the possible of seven birds and divided the sweep money. R. G. White (12yds) shot six birds. Seven Bird Sweepstake.—R. H. Bartley (17yds) and L. F. Ramsay (21yds) tied with the possible of seven birds and divided tho sweep money. A. J. Hannigan (lfiydß), M. McCallum (12yds). and R. G. White (12ydsl each shot six birds.
15-bird Club Trophy Match.—From a good field R. G.. White (12yds) shot tho possible of 15 birds and won outright the trophy and first sweep money. F. Kay-Stratton (18yds) was runnor-up with 14 birds, and L. J. Henderson (19yds) and M. McCallum (12yds) each had 13 breaks. Seven-bird Gimcrack Match.—R. H. Bartley (13yds to 25yds), A. J. Hannigan (12yds to 24yds), and L. F. Ramsay (16yda to 28yds) all shot the possible of seven birds. R. G. White Olyds to 21yds) and M. McCallum (11yds to 21yds) had six breaks each.
