SEAT IN THE SENATE
HUEY LONG'S WIDOW APPOINTMENT BY GOVERNOR (Received February 2, 5.5 p.m.) • NEW YORK. Feb. 1 The Governor of Louisiana, Mr. Noe, to-day appointed Mrs. Huey Long to succeed her late husband in the Senate. She will hold office until the elections in April. Mrs. Long seldom took an interest in her late husband's political affairs and her appointment has been received with considerable surprise.
