TOURNAMENT AT ROTORUA PLAY COMMENCING TO-DAY [from our own correspondent] ROTORUA, Sunday The thirty-fourth annual No. 1 tournament of the Rotorua Bowling Club, which has attracted the entry of 55 rinks from all parts of tho North Island, will be commenced at the Government Gardens to-morrow morning and will continue throughout the week. The final between sections winners wijl probably be reached on Friday afternoon. As usual, the teams have been divided into five sections and, provided no interruptions are necessary on account of bad weather, three rounds of section play will be decided each day. Among the nine entries from the Carlton (Auckland) Club is that comprising V. Little, H. B. Jenkin, R. Higgott and H. Do Launey. In one of the best finals witnessed since the inception of the tourney this' team last year defeated Sutherland, Flowerday, F. Livingstone and 11. A. Robertson, of Onehunga, who are also again entered for this year's championship. Maxwell Walker, who for many years past lias been a consistent and popular entrant for the tournament, will again skip an Auckland rink, and' among the teams competing fov the first time for some years are Waiuku (Whiteside). Hallyburton Johnstone (Sharp), Balmoral (B. Ramsay), and Eltliam (A. O. Casey). As a result of the lengthy spell of heavy rain experienced throughout last month and consequently little play, the greens are in excellent order for the tournament, and at the commencement they should prove less fiery than has been the case in previous years. TOURNEY AT CLEVEDON The following skips have entered teams for the Clevedon Bowling Club's tournament. to be held on Monday next, play commencing at 9 a.m.:—Rice, Snell (Papakura); Hay (Ellerslie); H.
