LEARNING EMBROIDERY
Under the tuition of Mrs. Knight, who knits many woollies for the Babies' Cot Guild, Princess Elizabeth has learned to knit very creditably for her age. Now she is to learn to embroider, and tho Duchess, who, with the Duke, has been for some time engaged upon petit point chair seats for their country home, is to teach her. An animal design upon canvas, with the gay-coloured wools and needles tucked away inside the parcel, was chosen by the Duchess for her elder daughter at a London bazaar recently. Perhaps the Queen's decision to take another of the rose-patterned chintz wool " palettes " designed for embroiderers has something to do with her grand-daughter's new accomplishment, for the Queen already has several for her own use. Tied with cherry red ribbons, this " palette " contains numbered slots for each coloured wool, so that all can be kept in order.
