AT WAIOMIO
I a.m writing this letter to tell you how I am enjoying my country holiday in Wai. omio,. The day we came down here we pitched the tent up and then made a fire, which consisted of 14 rocks, three iron bars and piece of tin, which was found lying in the ploughed field. My brother, sister and I have begun making a .hut out of green tea-tree between two lacebark trees and the bamboo stick in the middle. One da y our mother said we could take our lunch into it. V/hen we want water we go down to the Waiomio creek and fill our canvas bucket. A few weeks before we came here the creek was flooded, so I am glad we weren't here. Every day we have three swims, once in the creek and twice in the sea, and every Sunday the ice-cream stall is open, so we are able to have one each .week.—Yours .sincerely., Roberta Elliott, Hape Road, Thames. (Age 11.)
