CONCERT SEASON
SPIVAKOVSKY-KURTZ TRIO Chamber music of a standard which should appeal to lovers of both classical and popular music will bo presented en Wednesday in the Town Hall concert chamber bv the celebrated Spiva-kovsky-Kurtfc Trio. Always a popular combination, this trio includes Jascha Spivakovsky, pianist of outstanding quality. A well-selected.programme containing tho more popular classical numbers such as Schumann's Arabesque, the "Carnival" suite by tho same composer, and the "Adieux" sonata by Beethoven, should bring this performer abounding applause. Tossy Spivakovsky, first solo violinist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at tho ago of 18, presents among other selections solos by Bach, Paganini and modern composers such as Elgar. Edmund Kurtz, pupil of tho virtuoso Pablo Casals, will present works by Haydn and Pavel among his 'cello selections. As a trio the performers should please by their performances of Ravel's trio, Mendelssohn's in D minor and Beethoven's in B flal major Box plans for the Auckland season are advertised.
