THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE GOOD VOLUME OF SALES Business was brisk on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, a good volume of trading being carried out. Industrials generally showed a firmer tendency/ There was limited inquiry for Government loans. A parcel of 1910 4 per cent bonds gained 10s on sale at £lolf while 1f52 •'!; per cent stock dropped 15s to £lO2 15s. Trading in banks slackened, and Commercials of Australia were Id soaker in a transfer at 19s. There were two sales of New Zealands unchanged at 17s (3d. In the insurance section South British were placed Is higher at 91s 6d. New Zealands sold at the current price, 635. In the tirst sale this year Devonport Steam Ferry shares were secured Is 9d cheaper at 21s 6d. Kauri Timbers showed no change at 245. Dominion Breweries lost 3d in a sale at ISs 9d, but two parcels of New Zealand Breweries at 53s 6d and 53s 3d were placed 9d and 6d higher, respectively. In the miscellaneous section Australian Glass shares were done Is 3d higher at 87s 3d. G. J. Coles gained 6d in a transfer at 72s 9d, while Broken Hill Proprietary shares were 9d higher at 59s 6d. Farmers Fertilisers were secured Id cheaper at 20s 6d. Selling for the first time this year, New Zealand Refrigerating (£1 paid) gained 3d to sell at 22s 3d. Northern Roller Mills, preference, at 23s 6d, showed a drop of 2s 6d on the last sale m March last year.
