MORE MARRIAGES
STATISTICS FOR JANUARY INCREASE IN BIRTHS There was an increase in tho number of births and marriages registered in Auckland last month, and a decrease in the number of deaths, as compared with the figures for January 1935. According to statistics supplied by tho Auckland registrar, Mr. F. Evans, the number of births last month was 237, as against 228 in January, 1935. Marriages totalled 184, compared with 1(58, while there were 122 deaths, as against 146 in tho corresponding month last year. Of the marriage totals, 42 were performed by the registrar .last month, compared with 30 in January, 1935.
