VALUES AT MORRINSVILLE STORE SHEEP IN DEMAND

HEAVY ENTRY OF PIGS Medium yardings of fat stock and cuttle and a heavy yarding of both fat and store pigs were entered at the weekly Morrinsville stock sale yesterday. Competition was keen throughout. The Fanners' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports.—A medium entry of fat sheep, comprising chiefly fat ewes and lambs, l'rices remained on a par with last, week's Quotations. There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of store lambs, including many lines of black face lambs, the majority being in fair condition. Competition throughout was extremely keen,, and an advance on lust week's rates was recorded. The advertised lines of wethers also met with a good reception and' sola at fully late values. The first of the Gisborne ewes for this season made their appearance and the sale was keenly followed by a large attendance of ' buyers, prices were fully up to expectations, and in/many cases ot good quality sheep were in advance of vendors' expectations. A ' total . clearance was ellected. A particularly choice pen of two-tooth ewes from Mr. \V. Preston Holt, of Kiwitahi, sold up to 33s 'Jd, while a line of mixed age ewes from' Coromandel Peninsula made up to 'aßs, lour arid five-year-old ewes from Gisborne, 24s 9d to 25s Bd. Ox beef was yarded in average numbers, being mostly of 1 light-weight finished cattle. CompetitiSn was keen and prices remained very firm. A line of fat steers from Mr. A. H. Dernier, of Motu.maoho, averaged £lO 10s. An t> ceptionally good yarding of young quality cow and heifer beef contained a good proportion of prime light fat Polled Angus heifers. Competition in this section was also keen and firm rates were realised. Second quality cows were also yarded in heavy numbers and found a better demand. The usual heavy yarding of boner cows and bulls realised values that were unchangod since last week. Fresh-conditioned young Jersey cows were also sought. VALUES AT OTOROHANGA The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, reports that at its Otorohanga stock sale on Wednesday there was an exceptionally good sale in all sections. The yarding of cattle lacked many prime cows, but fair numbers of medium beef cows were included in another fairly heavy entry, principally comprised of stores. Fat cattle met with a particularly keen inquiry, with prices appreciably above last Tuesday's Frankton quotations. Young store cows were keenly sought, and the bulls met with steady exporters' competition at current rales. A line of 297 jtembs offered on account of Mr. L Fitzgerald realised 20s 6d, while Mr. G. P.
