Ongley none for 4, Cutler two for 8 ONEHUNGA ASSOCIATION D.C.L. SHIELD COMPETITION The fourth series of matches in the second round of the Onehunga Cricket Association's competition for the D.C.L. Shield was played at Waikaraka Park on Saturday. Woollen Mills was the outstanding team, securing a comfortable victory over Royal Oak. Onehunga Rovers proved too stTong for Te Papapa Works, but the game between Onehunga Ramblers and Reid Rubber was more evenly contested. A. Blockley (Woollen Mills) made tho highest score with a well-played innings of 54. C. Agnew (Rovers), with 33, and R. Thompson (Royal Oak), 29, also batted well, The best bowling average* worn returned by J. Whisker and E. C. Bourdot (Ramblers), who captured eight wickets for four runs and six wickets for three runs respectively. W. Hatfield and J. O'Toole (Te Papnpa Works) were also successful with the ball, the former taking five wickets for 18 runs and the latter four for 18. Other good performances were:—R. OTAHUHU ASSOCIATION GOOD SCORES REGISTERED Several good scores were registered in games played under the control of the Otahuhu Cricket Association on Saturday. The Kempthorne-Prosser team gained the highest total with 195, and Hellaby's compiled 1(36 for the loss of five wickets. The best batting performance was registered by Marflitt (Kempthorne-Prosser), whoso 78 included 11 fours. Other good scores were:— Williams (Hellaby's), 58 not out; CRrroll (Hellaby's), 47 not out; Deas (Returned Soldiers), 45 not out. The best bowling performances were:— Harvey (Hellaby's), five wickets for 21 runs; Gillies (Hellaby's), three for 17; McLaren (Returned Soldiers), three for 21: Coppins (Returned Soldiers), three for 33.
