ASSAULT IN CAFE
CHINESE FINED £4 A sequel to a disturbance in a Chinese cafe in Grey's Avenue, City, was the appearance in the Police Court yesterday of a Chinese, Dudley On (Mr. Aekins), aged 39, who was charged with assaulting another Chinese, Chan Fun. In evidence, Chan Fun said that ■while he was in the cafe on Thursday night accused called him over and then struck him ever the left eye, knocking him unconscious. Questioned by Mr. Aekins, witness denied he had ever told the police that accused was a dealer in opium. Remarking that the a'ssaulfc appeared to have been unprovoked, the magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, imposed a fine of £4, and costs.
