They had been in the water for two and a-half hours when picked up. One, a schoolboy who was unable to swim, was being supported by his companions. All were in an exhausted and desperate plight when the yacht came to their rescue. After some little difficulty they were taken on board the Queen Charlotte and on arrival at the boat harbour were conveyed to the Wellington Hospital. The capsized boat was a 14ft. centreboard yacht, of the square bilge type. The sea at the time of the capsize wag moderately rough. The crew consisted of three brothers, Mr. J. Beckett, Mr. W. G. Beckett and Master G. Beckett, all of Wellington. The other occupant of the boat was Mr. C. Fraser-Hurst, also of Wellington. On being admitted to the hospital they were found to be suffering from shock and exposure. At a late hour this evening the condition of each patient was reported to be favourable. MISHAPS AT AUCKLAND BOISTEROUS CONDITIONS The boisterous weather over the weekend caused a number of mishaps to yachts. The crews were all rescued without difficulty and the boats safely towed ashore. Several other craft carried away gear, while yesterday a small craft,' the Mimic, dragged her moorings in Mechanics' Bay and was Gaved from being dashed against the jagged breastwork near the vehicular ferry landing by a Harbour Board launch which took her in tow.
