HOME-MADE WINE A RECIPE TO AVOID Many excellent recipes for blackberry, rhubarb, parsnip and other wines have appeared in these columns, and it is hoped that readers have been successful with them. It may not be generally known among housewives that if prohibition became law in New Zealand, the making of home-made wine would become an offence punishable by a fine of £IOO. The making of any kind of wine at home is a harmless and timehonoured custom, and generally those who make it also know how to use it wisely. The recipe of prohibition is a most unsuccessful one, and this has now been proved all over the world. A law which will make a crime of the possession of a bottle of brandy in the house for emergencies will never be tolerated by the women of New Zealand. It is expected that the women of New Zealand will show their common sense on Polling Day by voting for Continuance.—Advt.
