BUILDING PROGRAMME CLYDE FIRMS' CONTRACTS (Received November 8, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY," Nov. 7 The cruiser contracts on the 1935 programme are completed with the allocation' of an order for machinery for the third cruiser to Scott's Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, a Clyde firm which already has in hand the hull and machinery of H.M.S. Glasgow of the 1934 programme and two destroyers. The additional contract is estimated to bo worth about £500,000. The sixth naval vessel to be launched on the Clyde this year, the destroyer Gipsy, took the water from Fairfield's yard to-day. H.M.S.. Garland, a sistership, was launched by the same firm more than a week ago. Both vessels are of 1400 tons displacement.
