MISHAP TO R. McTAVISH 1 [ lIV TELEGRAM —OWN CORRESPONDENT ) 1 ; WHANGAREI. Friday An unusual accident befel R. McTavish in the Parahaki Handicap, the Inst race on yesterday's programme of ithe Wharlgaroi Racing Club's mooting. Ho struck his leg on tho rail and his boot was wronched off by the impact. Although uo bones were broken it is doubtful whether he will ride tomorrow. McTavish was riding Green Patch, who had a good position until the accident, when he fell back.
