SYLVIA MINES PROGRESS Sylvia Mines Development, Limited, Thames, reports:—The recent crushing of 73 tons of ore at the Thames School erf Mines battery from a drive off No. 2 winze from No 4 level gave a lip assay of lldwt. gold and 3oz. Bdwt. silver a ton Over 4i tons of concentrates were obtained for shipment to Australia, of s. value of £SO a ton at current prices, and exclusive of the value of the base metal contents Very rich ore is again being met with' driving south from No. 1 winze. Grab samples taken from 11 trucks containing approximately six tons of ore gave an assay value of 7oz. ldwt. of gold and 19oz. 9dwt. of silver a ton, valued at £(JO a ton on current, prices. : * , .
