SUNDAY DINNERS
" SOLEMN RITUAL " GONE
Four hundred and fifty delegates of the British National Federation of Meat Traders' Associations agreed with the Mayor of Cheltenham at their conference at Cheltenham recently, when he deplored the passing of what he described as "the solemn ritual of the Sunday dinner." It was due, the Mayor said, to the development of the motor-car and the ever-increasing number of people who preferred a luncheon basket in the country or by the sea to a good hot meal of meat and vegetables at home.
. He suggested that butchers might do something to meet this situation b.\ opening departments for the sale of cooked meat.
