JACK GORDON BENEFIT
FINE PROGRAMME ARRANGED
Excellent support has been forthcoming for the benefit concert in aid of Mr Jack Gordon, well-known in Auckland theatrical circles, and although the programme has not yet been finalised, there is every indication that it will hold a wide appeal. The proceeds of the community singing gathering to be held in His Majesty s Theatre on Wednesday will be given to the fund. The Auckland Operatic Society will E resent " Tarantella," with Geoff, olledge, Cecil Hall's ballet and chorus, " Soldiers in the Park." Doreen Saunders and chorus, and Silent Heroes," Robert Simmers and chorus. A onoact play will be staged by the Auckland Little Theatre Society. Leading players from the British DramA League's festival will present " Tho Invisible Duke," while Althea Parker's players will be seen in " Chinese White." Assisting artists will include Mrs Harold Owers, Gordon Fagan, Robert Simmers, Alan McElwain and Kardo, the magician. Colin Muston will be responsible for organising a full operatic orchestra and will train the Operatio Society in their numbers.
