FAREWELL AT HUIA

Appreciation of their efforts for the community for the past six months during the erection of tho bridge at Huia was conveyed to the contractor, Mr. W. Knight, Mrs. Knight, and the employees, Messrs. J. Brown, A. Blucher, H. Skelton, H. Skulander, F. Major and H. Selby, at a farewell social tendered to them by tho residents of Huia and the Huia Dramatic Club in the schoolroom. The secretary of the club, Miss Dorothy Kirk wood,, presented Mrs. Knight with bouquets from the club and residents. Speeches were made by Mr. J. Bosson, secretary of tho school committee, and by Mr. Riemenschneider, on behalf of residents. The programme included songs by Miss Sara Stacpoole; recitations by Mr. J. Brown; two schoolchildren's sketches, " The Fairy and the Doll," by the Misses Marie Napier and Dawn Napier, and "The Socialists," by Masters Douglas Farley and Don Fletcher. Suppor waß provided by tho ladies' committee.
