CRIPPLED CHILDREN
CAMPAIGN FOR FUND CIVIC THEATRE COLLECTION Through the assistance of Misa Gladys Moncrieff and the Civic' Theatre management, a sum of £2O toward'the Mayor's fund to endow the Wilson Home for Crippled Children, was. obtained by "means of a collection among the audience at the theatre last night. ' The president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Gainor Jackson, who is chairman of the business men s committee assisting the Mayor in a provincial campaign" to be resuscitated early next month, expressed appreciation of Miss Moncrieff's interest in the matter. • ' ~ "'The sum required to endow the home properly is £25,000, of which so far onlv about £7500 has been contributed," *aid Mr. Jackson. "On many previous occasions Miss Moncrieff has shown her appreciation of the wonderful public patronage accorded to her in Australia and New Zealand bv assisting in appeals for philanthropic aims. .1 appeal to every member of the audience to give Miss Moncrieff's appeal their sympathetic and practical support."
