PERRY'S INJURY

Nov. 7 Fred Perry has been X-rayed and ♦he photographs reveal that the muscles j of his back are badly torn. The doctors order complete rest. Perry is bitterly disappointed, but intends to keep faith in his tennis engagements hero, even if is compelled to play below his usual Standard. (• ' t —— When contesting tho semi-final of the American championship against Wilmer Allison in September, Perry fell heavily and injured his right hip- He kept on playing, however, but was defeated, by Allison, thus losing the American titlo, which ho held at that -time. A subsequent examination revealed that Perry had displaced one „of his kidneys. Perry stated during his recent visit to Auckland that he had i been advised to rest for three months, bo thilt it is possible his appearance in exhibition games at Stanley Street lust Saturday helped to aggravate his ' injury.
