CLOSING HOURS FIXED RETAILERS* ARRANGEMENTS 0 Shopping hours to be observed during the Christmas and New Year holidays were decided upon at a representative meeting of retailers in Auckland yesterday. Christmas Eve will be a late shopping night, but shops will close at 5.30 p.m on New Year's Eve. Ordinary hours will be observed on Friday, Saturday and Monday, December 20, 21 and 23, when shops will close at 9 p.m., 12.15 p.m. or 12.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. respectively. On Christmas Eve the closing time will be 10 p.m. Christinas Day and Boxing Day will be observed as holidays. Shops will closo at 5.30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, and at the usual time, 12.15 p.m. or 12.30 p.m. on December 28. There will also be only one late night during the New Year week. On Monday, December 30 and on New Year's Eve, the closing hour will be 5.30 p.m. New Year's Day and January 2 will be holidays, and shops will remain open until 9 p.m. on Friday, January 3. On January 4 the closing time will be the usual 12.15 p.m or 12.30 p.m.
