"WAIHI, Thuriday „Tho following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company" (Wai'hi), Limited: —For : the periodsended October 26, . 12,005 tons were ■* crushed for a result of 2961 fine ounces of gold and 24,886 fine ounces of silver. Thiß includes 2187 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 310 ounces of gold and 1184 ounces of silver, and also 319 tons of residues from the site of the old Waihi mill. Owing the strike, crushing time was reduced- -- to 13 J days. No. 2 Level.—The prospecting cross-' cut north-west from the Martha lode is out 25ft. in oxidised andesite. No. 7 Level.—ln the vein at 165 ft. north in the crosscut at 200 ft., -west, the next 52ft. driving east has splitinto two small sections of low value, yy No. 12 Level. —Edward lode: Drivtli ing south the next 43ft. assays 2s 9d, v a ton. "*- •» No. 14 Level. —Martha lode: The" " ■ south-east crosscut at 785 ft. east is re-> sumed and is out 74ft. in dark andesite. The crosscut passed through a carbonaceous seam extending from. 64 to_' 67ft. , YIELDS OF COMPANIES '?§ Paddy's Point (Central Otago).-- V 91oz. for 42 days. • Golden Dawn (Owh'aroa). —For the-. 11 working days ended October 28, 386 • tons of ore were treated for .a return of £1458, realisation estimated at £7 2a a gold oz. REPORTS OF MANAGERS .... Mataki (Murchison).—Last week the dredge had a sood run. the return being obtained right across the face. The wash dirt remained very hard, but showed ** gradual improvement, the cold being a much better quality.
