HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY annual rose show SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITORS Entries for tho Auckland Horticultural Society annual rose show, which was opened in tho Town Hall yesterday, totalled over 140, which is slightly more than last year's total. Tho champion roso of the show is Bishop K. A. Anderson's "Una Wallace," the champion pansy, Mr. 11. IJ. F. Grace's "Golden Kink," and tho champion viola, Mr. 11. H. F. Grace's "Clarice Boyle." PORT ALBERT DISPLAY HIGH STANDARD PEACHED [from our own correspondent] PORT ALBERT, Thursday In spite of the unfavourable season there was an excellent display of blooms at the annual flower show, held in connection with the Port Albert Methodist Church on Wednesday. The judge stated that tho stocks, gladioli and delphiniums were equal to any shown elsewhere this season. Tho collections of flowers wero also of a high standard, but roses wero not at their best, owing to tho bad weather. There was a good attendance and tho Auckland Methodist orphanages will benefit considerably from the proceeds. Tho winner of the points prize was Miss N. Gubb; best single bloom, Mrs. G. H. Smith; best exhibit, Mrs. C. M. Becroft. champion rose, Mrs. H. A. Becroft; champion gladioli, Miss N. Gubb.
