FINE PANTOMIME

CECIL HALL'S PUPILS HIGH STANDARD REACHED Spectacular scenes, colourful costuming and delightful dancing thoroughly entertained a large audience at Scots Hall last night, when the pupils of Miss Cecil Hall presented the pantomime " The Sleeping Beauty " and several individual dances. A feature of the concert was the splendid lighting which gave tho audience a good opportunity of watching tho intricate steps. Every item was presented, with a smoothness and precision which was a great tribute to those responsible, and the almost entire absonco of mistakes bespoke careful training. Tho programme commenced with tho charming pantomime "The Sleeping Beauty," and tho contrasting costumes of fairies, villagers and huntsmen made a vivid picture. Tho pantomimo was presented in four scenes and was interspersed with several interludes. Both the bnllet and solo dancing and tho singing of a large cast wero of a very high order. The second portion of the programme was commenced with a picturesque fantasy, "My Lady's Boudoir," in which the characters were seen as quaint figures, such as powder pufTs and perfumes, and tho final effect was both novel and striking. Then followed several individual items, including solo and acrobatic dancing, and a splendid finalo which completed a varied and artistic entertainment.
