GANG WARFARE

CONTINUATION IN NEW YORK NEW YORK. Nov. 5 The grim gang warfare for the control of New York's underworld added to its victims to-day, when the body of a murdered man found in a rural section 100 miles from New "York City was identified as that of Charles Sherman, known as " The Chinaman." Deceased was closely associated with " Dutch Schultz," " Waxoy " Gordon, and other prominent gangsters who were attacked recently. Sherman was shot and his head was crushed with an axe. His body was buried in quicklime, apparently in the hopo that it would never bo found. iho police believe tho assassination, like that of Schultz, tho brothers Amberg and others, to havo been tho work of a secret organisation known as tho " Unione Siciliano," the leader of which, Charles Luciano, is reported to havo gone 1.0 Miami to avoid arrest in New York.
