LARGE LAND DEAL

OVER £IOO,OOO INVOLVED POVERTY BAY TRANSACTION NOTED STATION PROPERTY [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] GISBORNE, Wednesday One of the largest land deals in recent years in Poverty Bay was completed yesterday, when the well-known station property, Tangihau, changed hands at a price in excess of £IOO,OOO. The purchaser was Mr. H. M. Bayly, of Gisborne, the owner of several other station properties in the Poverty Bay and Wairoa districts. The addition of Tangihau Station to his previous holdings is a notable one, the station being recognised as one of the finest in the district. It is situated about 32 miles from Gisborne.

The property is of 15,157 acres. Its sale to Mr. Bayly by the Georgetti Estate is reported to be on a walk-in, walk-out basis, the stock now on the place being included in the deal.
