DANCE RECITAL

The Peter Pan Cabaret was the scene of a most successful function last (evening when Miss Margaret O'Connor held her annual dance for pupils and friends. There was a large attendance and some excellent dancing was witnessed. The cabaret was effectively decorated with bowls of cornflowers, vivid stocks and native rata. Of special, interest were the trophies won during the season which were' on display. The senior, junior and novice ballroom championships were held during the evening, for which Mr. B. Bradley, Mr. L. Grieve and Mr. J. Espey acted as judges. Their task was a difficult onq, the danoing being of a high standard. To re l ceive her guests Miss O'Connor wore a frock of spindleberry red crepe with a girdle of silver sequins. Among those present were:—Mrs. T. EI. E. Oakes, who wore magnolia C'hantilly lace; Mrs. J. C. Pawley, in black taffeta; Mrs. E. Norton, black suede; Mrs. E. L. Thwaites, lobelia blue moire; Mrs. W. J. Jackson, black georgette; Mrs. W. Bath, peach pink taffeta; Miss Betty McLennan, golden brown ring velvet; Miss M." Lippincott, green floral chiffon; Miss Barbara Brookfield, daffodil suede; Miss M. E. Dodd, cameo pink satin; Miss Edna Harvey, lobelia blue moiro; Miss E. McGowan, phlox pink velvet; Miss W. Haycock, floral taffeta; Miss Mollie Butler-Williamson, black craquelle; Miss J. Young, cherry crepe; Miss R. Sparkes, lacquer red romaine; Miss S. Mentzer, green arid pink georgette; Miss J. Gregory, saxe blue linen ; Miss V. Goofin, vieux rose coin-spotted lace; Miss Mary Hiscocks, parchment souple satin; Miss Ena Webb, figured georgette; Miss Lynn Hemus, hyacinth blue georgette; Miss Mildred Robson, cherry ring velvet; Miss Marie Douglas, wistaria broderie anglaise; Miss J. Albrecht, lobelia blue crepe; Miss N. Watts, red and white checked organdie; Miss D. Morgan, black and gold checked taffeta; Miss B. Bridges, saxe blue crepe suede; Miss J. Pankhurst, black satin and peach velvet tunic frock.

Miss Sheila Stephens was in cold corded silk; Miss Connie Jones, willow green satin; Miss L. Ronaon, cameo pink georgette; Miss E. Prince, blsiclc taffeta; Miss E. Thorp, daffodil satiin; Miss Rae Stone, black crepe relieved with red; Miss I. Colquhoun, black taffeta; Miss J. Cargill, black georgette; Miss Beth Graham, Marina bluo velvet; Miss D. Prentice, ivory corded velvet; Miss N. Gilmore, black cire satin; Miss P. -Dines, turquoise blue georgette; Miss B. Henderson, blftck lace; Miss N. Alien, shrimp pink .faille; Miss Eileen Gearev, flame corded silk; Miss Joyce McMullin, vieux rose rainbow crepe; Miss Ella Anderson, ivory crepe threaded with silver; Miss Zena Thornton, pale lilac georgette; Miss Amy Broughtwood, piqk frilled taffeta. The winners of the championships were:—Senior, Miss Cecilv Wood and Mr. J. Laligan; junior, Miss J. Gargill and Mr. Owen Olsen: novice, Miss M. Langton and Mr. J. Guthrie.
