Mrs. John Farrell, of Auckland, is visiting Christchurch; Mrs. Florence Mcßride is a patient in the Auckland Hospital. Mrs. W. Davies, of Mission Bay, is a guest at Hotel Cheltenham. Miss Natalie Allen, of the Bay of Islands, is the guest of Mrs. Allan Matson, Christchurch. Mrs. Norman Little, of New Plymouth, is visiting Auckland and is staying at Castlebar. Mrs. Alfred Crooke, of Marton, is the guest of her nephew, Mr. G. H. Beaumont, Parnell Road. Mrs. G. C. Hitchcock, of Rotorua, is the guest of Mrs. Miilward Anderson, Karori, Wellington. Lady Edmonstone, of London, is a passenger by the Rangitata, which is due at Auckland on November 20. Mrs. A. E. Lewis and Miss D. Fielder (Melbourne) and Mrs. L. H. Hardman (London) are at the Station Hotel.

Mrs. Harcourt-Wybert, of Christchurch, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. H. C. Sidford, Kitchener Road, Takapuna.

The Misses G. - Champion and E. R. Newett, of Sydney, arrived by the Wanganella yesterday. They are at Glevalvon.

At the Cargen Hotel are:—Madame F. Marsi and Mrs. K. B. Bagley (Melbourne) and Mrs. Watson Dawson (Christchurch).

Mrs. A. W. A. Perkins, Garden Road, Remuera, will leave this morning for Rotorua en route to Napier and Wellington.

Mrs. L. Ensor, of Taihape, who has recently returned from a tour of the Eastern countries, is the guest of Mrs. Fred. Wilson at her Waiheke Igland residence.

_ Mrs. M. C. Keane, of Sydney, arrived in Auckland j'esterday by the Wanganella on a visit to relatives and friends. She is the guest of Mrs. Norman Burton, Great South Road.

Miss Marjorie Sheridan, of Sydney, arrived in Auckland by the Wanganella yesterday and left last evening for Christchurch, where she will stay with her cousin, Lady Ward, Merivale Lane.

Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Daniels, of Auckland, are returning to' New Zealand from England by the Rangitata, due at Auckland on November 20, wrote our London correspondent on October 12.

Lady Myers has sold her London home, 71 Upper Berkeley Street, and is staying at Claridge's Hotel prior to leaving on November 14 for a visit to New Zealand, wrote our London correspondent on October 12.

At the Grand Hotel are; —Mrs. ~J. B. Canning (Paihia),. Mrs. L. S. Miller (Marlborough), , Mrs. N. Laver (Christchurch), Mrs> H. Hedinger, Mrs. A. G. Seivwright (Sydney), Miss M, Johnson and Miss G. Plunkett (London).

Mr. and Mrs. H. S..W. King, of Auckland, have spent some time in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which is Mrs. King's native town, and they will be spending a holiday at Hindhead, before returning to New Zealand, wrote our London correspondent on October 12.

Miss Sybil C. Hay, of Auckland, is staying at Cobham, Surrey, with Mr. and Mrs. A. Seth Smith, and she hopes to remain in England for some months, wrote our London correspondent on October 12. She was a bridesmaid at the marriage of her brother to Miss Betty Seth Smith in Cobham Church.

There was a large attendance of members and friends at a meeting of the St. Heliers branch of the League of Mothers. The president, Mrs. St. Clair Inglis, presided. Mrs. Cammell gave an address on the work of the Dock Street Mission and also on that of the St. John Ambulance Association. Songs were given by Mrs. McKnight, her accompaniments being played by Miss Zelda Williams. Afternoon tea brought the meeting to a close.

The Kohimarama sub-branch of the Plunket Society held a card party at 'the home of Mrs. Lewis Eady. Among those present were: —Mesdames Burgess, P. White, T. Russell, Bradshaw, Dymock, Whaley, Leonard, Watkin, Ansenne, Fraser, Reid, Eady, Moodie, Bradbury, Howey, Dean, Johnstone, A. White, Brookfield, Birks, Long, Nealie and Koefoed, and the Misses Bell, Rudd and Gordon.

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Sterling, of Wellington, Miss Sterling and Miss Nicholls have returned from a motoring Continental tour, wrote our London correspondent on October 12. The countries visited included Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Switzerland and France. The car was driven either by Mr. Sterling or his daughter, and they experienced no difficulties of any kind in following the routes they had hajl prepared by the Automobile Association in London.

A cradle roll party was held by the Mount Eden Women's Christian Temperance Union. An excellent programme was contributed by Mrs. Rattray, who sang; Mrs. T. Clark, who recited; and Mrs. Hallwortliy, who gave an address. Each child was presented with a gift, and any who were not present had one posted to them. Tea was served by union members. The annual meeting was also held and the reports of the year's work received. The election of officers resulted in the re-election of all retiring officials, with the exception of the president. The vacancy will be filled next year.

Dr. and Mrs. C. C. Morice, with Miss Morice, have had a pleasant and interesting tour through Ireland, wrote our London correspondent on October 12. They are preparing for their return voyage, by ths Tamaroa, on November 1. Miss Morice will follow a fortnight later by the Rangitane. During his travels in Britain, Dr. Morice has taken many opportunities to revive acquaintances with fellow students of hospital days, and he has also been looking into matters of medical interest at Guy's and elsewhere. Mrs. Morice entertained a number of friends this week to afternoon tea at 10 Gloucester Place, those present including Lady Buckleton, Miss Buckleton, Mrs. H. W. Blundell, Miss L. Blundell, Mrs. J MacN, Christie, Miss Ba.vley, Mrs. H. T. B. Drew, Mrs. Christie, Mrs. C. W. Salmon, Mrs. G. Shirtcliffe, Mrs, K. S. Harston, Mrs. and Miss Peacock, Mrs. Whiteaway, Miss S. Murray and Mrs. Delntour.
