"CASUAL HUSBAND"

IGNORANCE OF WIFE'S NAME

COMMENT IN DIVORCE COURT [BY TELECRAFH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON. Wednesday "Some of these men are pretty casual when they don't even know their wives' names," remarked Mr. Justice Blair in the Supreme Court to-day, when he was asked to amend divorce papers in which the Christian name of the female respondent was wrongly stated.

It appeared that petitioner had instructed his solicitor that his wife s name was Annie, the name by which she was generally known. When the marriage certificate was produced, however, it was found that the woman had four Christian names, and Annie was not one of them. Counsel explained that respondent and herself had given him thp name Annie, and he had acted for her under that name. In granting the amendment, His Honor referred to the necessity of the papers being accurate, and said that trouble would have been experienced if the error had not been discovered and amended.
