COMMUNITY SINGING

SUCCESSFUL SEASON CLOSES Outstanding success attended the final community singing gathering of the season, which was held by the Community Singing Committee in the Town Hall yesterday. The hall was filled to capacity and numbers wero turned away. Many of the popular old songs and later "hits" were sung, in addition to which solos were rendered by Miss Sara Stacpoole and the Rev. Everill Orr. Tho song leader was Mr. Vernon T. Drew and all the members of the committee took part. Mr. G. Grey Campbell presided. The season has been a remarkably successful one and contributions received, which will be devoted to tho Crippled Children's and Unemployed Relief Funds, exceeded last season's by a substantial amount. At yesterday's gathering £22 in small amounts was received from listeners-in and £lO from the body of the hall. A presentation was made to Mrs. Barrington Snow, who has rendered valuable service as accompanist throughcut tho season. Mr. M. Guthrie and the "Rev. E. Orr have been assisting with the mid-dav gatherings and Mr. W. Woodhead has done the secretarial work.
