AUSTRALIAN ISSUES RISE
A firm inquiry for Australian industries r;as evident on the Auckland Stock ' Exchange yesterday, particular attention being phid to Broken Hills und Electrolytic Zincs. Levels generwere firm, hut turnover was not Inr'fie. Inquiry for Government loans was steady, hut, with the exception of a parcel of dissented stock, no supplies were visible. Reserve Banks had sale 3s Gd higher nt £6 Ss 6d, following which holders „. cre a shade easier. A gain of 12s fid was registered by New South Wales, which were placed nt £33, while New Zealauds,- after selling unchanged at 50s yd,' were dealt in at 60s lOd. New Zealand Insurances were again weaker, a sale being niado 3d lower at 62s 6d, and oilers dropping 9d to 625. South British, however, were traded ynaltcred at 88s and then at 68s 3d. In loan and agency sales at lower prices were made in Dalgetys, Guarantee Corporations and United Buildings (Auckland). Kauri Timbers were weaker, but Nationals and Taupo Totaras had stronger support. An advance of 2s occurred m Broken gills, which were done at c ; Ss, while the contributing issue was sought 9d better at 275. Electrolytic Zincs were wanted Is higher at 345, and offers for the preference issue rose Is 6d to 38s. Less spectacular advances occurred in ether Australian industrials. Peters ice Cream (N.Z.) rose Is 3d since the last sale in July to change hands at 2os 3d. Other business at higher rates was done in New Zealand Breweries, Farmers' Trading (preference) and New Zealand Drugs, while Farmers' Fertilisers and Anthony Hordtrns were secured at cheaper prices.
