ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY

FURTHER REMAND GRANTED A further remand was ' granted by Mr. Justice Fair yesterday in the case of William Brewer, labourer, aged 51, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of escaping from lawful custody at Huntly on June 1. Mr. Hunt, who appeared for accused, said he had previously been granted a remand in order to obtain some further facts. Some of these had now come to hand, but he was still awaiting further replies. His Honor said the desire to obtain further facts was a good reason for obtaining a remand, and Brewer would be remanded for sentence until a later date.
