CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE'S MEETING
(Received November 1, 5.5 p.m.) ■H GENEVA, Oct. 31 The Committee of Eighteen and the full Sanctions Coordination Committee, composed of the representatives of 52 ' States, met at Geneva to-day. At the latter meeting M. Vasconcellos (Portugal) reported that 50 States had agreed to the committee' 3 recommendation for an arms embargo against Italy, 47 had signified their assent to the recommendation for the withdrawal of loans and credit, and 46 had adhered to the recommendations for the prohibition of imports from Italy. The Committee of Eighteen decided that Italian goods fully paid for before October 19 shall be exempt from the boycott. Contracts for deliveries on which no payments have been made shall be cancelled for the period of the sanctions. The only non-member State to reply to the recent communication by the chairman of the Co-ordination Committee is the United States. It is expected that formal acknowledgment of the reply will be approved by the committee and despatched to the United States Government. Although Egypt is not a member of the League, she has informed the Secretariat that she has decided to adhere to economic and financial sanctions. 1
