BRIGHTER BATHROOMS
Bathrooms have for somo time been emulating the grandeur that was Rome's ancient contribution to tho rites of the bath. Tho latest idea, however, to brighten the bathroom is gay rather than grand, a happy conceit rather than a luxurious or super-hygienic installation. It's a coloured sponge. Not one of thoso vivid rubber concoctions which pull tho short hairs round your ears, but a real livo sponge—at least, it was alive not so long ago in the warm waters of the Levant. These sponges, which were seen in London by our "shop-snooper," are dyed to beautiful pastel shades in such a way that they are absolutely harmless to tho skin and retain their pristine softness. Undoubtedly they aro a boon to thoso whoso early morning outlook customarily needs brightening.
