Mouse Painting MADE EASY with Ready Mixed Paints Modern ideas trend toward making our houses more and more attractively colourful. With the aid of quality ready-mixed paints, house painting—both exterior and interior decoration —has now become an interesting job, and, with the approach of brighter days, comes the need to take stock of the appearance of the home. Paint, to be of real value and service to the user, must of necessity be a quality product. The time is past when white lead has to be broken down with linseed oil, tinted, dryers added, and strained. Besides the loss of valuable time, it is practically impossible to obtain the even mix that paint, compounded of selected raw materials and manufactured from a scientific formula, •will give when processed through heavy grinding machinery. Throughout New Zealand severe climatic tests have proved the durability of lead and zinc paint as against white lead and oil. Nowadays, with permanent colour shades, it is possible to have an air of distinctiveness about the home even before entering the house itself. An appropriate colour scheme can be artistic either by way of contrast with the trees or garden layout, or the distinctiveness can be obtained by the toning in of softer shades of greens, browns, terracotta, etc. Houses that are required to remain cream or white can be given a fresh appearance by the addition of a contrasting colour. Then, again, the inside of the home lends itself admirably to the carrying out of artistic ideas. These oil varnish stains can be readily applied with the greatest of ease and it is surprising the wonderful results obtained by touching up the inside woodwork. Together with varnish stains, household enamels also play their part, and furniture as well as fixtures come under the magic of paint renovations. Modern ready-mixed paints banish the need for careful matching of colours, for the various shades are perfectly tinted in large quantities by experts, enabling the buyer to make his selection with easy confidence. Permanent colouring now provides good roof paints, and a housetop plays no small part in making or marring the general outlook of a really spick and span property standing trimly in its own particular setting.
